Baldwin Park is a city located in the San Gabriel Valley region of Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 75,837 at the 2010 census.Baldwin Park began as part of cattle grazing land belonging to the Mission San Gabriel Arcangel. In 1860, the land was acquired by the San Antonio Winery. A decade later, agricultural development transformed much of the area into vineyards and citrus groves.Baldwin Park became an incorporated city in 1956. From the 1920s to the 1950s the city was a White flight suburb of Los Angeles. In the late 20th century, as the San Gabriel Valley became increasingly suburbanized, middle-class and working-class families left Baldwin Park for nearby suburbs like West Covina and Rowland Heights. The city has a relatively young population, with a median age of 28.3 years in 2010, compared to the US median age of 37.2 years.
